Hello from Singapore :)

Hello everyone.

I am not sure if any of you are still following it. It has been FIVE years since I posted something on this blog.  Funny my last past was "My new slippers"... who really cares?! lol, I must have been super excited about getting new slippers...from UNIQLO?

But anyway, I am sitting here in the Sunday arvo trying to get away from the heat in Singapore. Yes I am in Singapore and have been meaning to post something for the past 3 weeks... Just wanted to keep a little record of everyday life for the time being here.

So, why am I in Singapore?
I was lucky enough to come here as a part of short international assignment for my work for seven months starting fromApril. I will be here until the end of October the earliest. So please please come and visit if you have an opportunity. :)
The impression I got so far is that Singapore is little Australia. Although it is a lot more multicultural than Melbourne (in a way that a lot more Chinese and Malay less Caucasians), I found it quite similar and easy to get settled in with both countries having British influence.

Where to start... I might just list up things as It comes to my mind.

It was quite hectic for me before I actually get here. In March, I was working full-time (including some of the weekends), travelling heaps for work and there were visitors from global side that I needed to take care of. Meanwhile, I was supposed to be packing my stuff for Singapore as well as for my parents place. I was saying goodbye to my place in Gyotoku. It was very sad. I was only there for 1.5 years. I was telling myself not to renew my contract after the two years (fingers crossed) when I moved in with hope for finding someone. But I did not think it was ending like this. I was pushing through my private move, and work stuff pretty much until the day of departure. I just wanted to get everything done before I left. Unfortunately, I do not have anyone to pass on my work to so I am doing most of Japanese work here as well. Thank god for the technology!

On the departure day, my boyfriend was kind enough to come see me off at the airport all the way from Kyoto. Funny thing was that he left his wallet behind in the bus on the way. He was on the phone pretty much the whole time in the airport waiting for my flight trying to locate where his wallet is. He finally found it so he was quite eager to see me off quickly to go to a bus depot to obtain his wallet again :P. Still, very hard to say goodbye to him. I do hope we will be able to stay connected between Singapore and Kyoto.

Arrived in Singapore safe and sound at 2am on April 2nd. The location I am staying is super super central part of Singapore. and the place is fully furnished and serviced. I will post some pictures later. it is HUGE! It is about 10 min walk to Merlion Park, Marin Bay Sands and Gardens by the bay.

Here are some picture of the Gardens by the bay, Merlion and Marina Bay Sands. all taken while I was out for a run.

Because I am so bored at night and over the weekend, I am running pretty much everyday. I just clocked 100k for April. I signed up to run a half-marathon at the end of May and considering signing up for a trail running at the end of August. Who new there was a trail running event in Singapore?

But anyway, I shall leave for a run now.
We will update more about work and such next time :)
ah, going to Myanmar next week :D

With Love
